I live in Europe and use a TomTom which stores a map of all of Europe (3.5GB). I want to switch to using a smartphone for navigating in Europe, but without paying data charges. Unfortunately Google offline maps seems to force you to specify a trip from A to B instead of downloading a whole country or continent. Why is it so restrictive? Have you any suggestions? Thanks.

You can buy a micro SD chip off of EBay for France and Benelux for $26.00 . It works perferctly and its not bootleg.

Hi Dee – Thanks for reaching out! All the Garmin models will work in Switzerland, it just depends whether you want all the bells and whistles. Or if you’re renting a car, you can use the GPS in the rental car. Or of course rely on a map app. Let us know if you have any further questions!
