These are Jessica’s tips from her trip to Palermo in Sicily, Italy. Jess visited Sicily to explore the culture, sites and food. The meal entrees ranged 6 to 14 euros.

Any hotels, restaurants or activities especially awesome?

We stayed within the Vucciria neighborhood which is a PARTY. I don’t recommend staying here as its almost impossible to sleep, but I do recommend visiting this area during the day to see the markets and at night to party in the streets with the locals – but be very weary of pick-pocketers, I caught a couple of 13 year-olds myself.

Visit the Cathedral and go up to the top for an amazing 360 view of Palermo.

If you’re looking for a beach day, take the bus to Mondello Beach. If you want to rent a boat with or without a skipper, walk all the way to the end of the beach in the direction of the town center and rent from Luigi – super kind and speaks English very well.

Restaurants: Bisso Bistrot and Trattoria Trapani. While hanging with the locals in Vucciria at night, be sure to grab a late night sausage sandwich – they cook it right in front of you and it is what dreams are made of!

Dislikes/things you would have done differently?

I would have spent less time in Palermo, 3 nights is enough.

If you had one more day? One less day?

I don’t recommend one more day as I was there for 5 nights.
